• Select by pipe diameter, not pressure. A DN200 disk on a PN10 will not withstand water hammer in a system with an operating pressure of 6 bar. We have compatibility tables - they take into account not only the nominal pressure, but also the type of O-ring, disc material and maximum medium temperature.
• Ignoring environment type. For water - EPDM. For oil - NBR. For aggressive vapors - Viton. One client in Minsk installed an EPDM seal in an ethylene glycol circulation system - after 4 months the disc “crept apart”. Replacing with NBR solved the problem.
• Underestimation of torque. With a diameter of DN300 and above, the manual drive must be reinforced. A standard handle won't do the job. We always indicate the required torque in the technical description and complete it with the appropriate lever or worm gear.
