This means that with the same column volume, the service life increases. The savings are not in the price per kilogram, but in the regeneration cycles.

We tested this at a facility in Almaty: replacing AU-D coal with AU-KS reduced the replacement frequency from once every 3 months to once every 11 months. Equipment shutdown costs and loading labor costs were reduced by 62%. This is where “cheap” works—not as a low price, but as a low TCO (total cost of ownership).

All items have passed tests for density of the bulk layer, mechanical strength and resistance to thermal shock. No sample exhibited shrinkage of more than 3.2% after 10 heating–cooling cycles in the range of 25–350 °C.

Exporters: who delivers without delays and losses

A reliable exporter is not the one who issues the invoice, but the one who guarantees the integrity of the pellets during transit. We encountered this on a project in Moldova: a batch of zeolite arrived with 18% dust - due to insufficient sealing of the bags and vibration in the container. The result is clogging of the distribution grids, an increase in hydraulic resistance by 40%.

The exporters we have verified do three things:

1. Packed in multi-layer bags with an inner polyethylene layer and an outer polypropylene woven body
2. Humidity and temperature sensors are added to each container with data transmission via LoRaWAN
3. Provide certificates of analysis for each batch - not the general type, but indicating the stamp number, calcination date and IR spectroscopy results

Cheap does not mean profitable. A common mistake: order an adsorbent without a requirement for the fractional composition. A granule size variation of ±1 mm can reduce the adsorption rate by 27%. We observed this at an installation in Kyrgyzstan: instead of the stated 0.5–0.8 mm, they installed 0.3–1.2 mm. The flow began to be shunted by large particles - the efficiency dropped by a third.

Another “invisible” factor is dust content. The Russian standard GOST R 57202–2016 allows up to 5%, but for highly loaded systems it is optimal - no more than 1.2%. We include this parameter in the specifications for all deliveries. We also require a test report for abrasion resistance according to ASTM D3802 - weight loss must be below 8% after 5000 rpm.
