The next step is not “more power”, but “more precisely tailored to the task.” We are currently testing three options: for ultra-low-sulfur diesel (≤10 ppm S), for recycling heavy fractions with a high content of mercaptans, and for combined processing of gasoline + flammable liquids. All three are based on the same reactor size, but with different sets of ionic liquids and control algorithms.
